This is a great option if you are new to yoga or returning to your practice after a long break. We have a full two hour session so we can discuss practice and where you want to go. I will then put the session onto paper so you can practice in your own time. Class will focus on postural demonstrations and breath work, Hatha based, as we break down each posture carefully. As with every class everything discussed is completely confidential. Emotions can often come up for release during a yoga practice so know that you are always safe and secure in Sun Moon Shala.

This class focuses on the pelvis as the locus of our being, we focus on healthy hip movement, stability and balance of the pelvic muscles. Suitable for all women of all ages and stages of life. A gentle elemental flow with some juicy yin sections that work seasonally and cyclically with the lunar phases. Moving with breath and intention each class ends with a yoga Nidra.

A class just for you and your cosmic babe! If you feel like you need to help to navigate all this new information regarding labour and birth, have questions or are looking for more evidence based research to help you make informed choices then this is for you. We can talk about what your birth dream would be and look at ways to have some continuity no matter what happens for example delayed cord clamping and skin to skin. We will finish the session with some delicious releasing practices to let go of anything you do not need to take with you into your birthing experience.

Yoga perfectly complements pregnancy and is indeed most women’s first introduction to yoga. Yoga can support the wellbeing of mother and baby, provide relief for many symptoms of pregnancy and connect a mother to her own inherent wisdom, enabling her to navigate labour and birth in peace and calm. We focus on vata calming and strength building asana that help to build confidence in your body’s natural abilities to birth.  We also look at useful practices to maintain mobility, normal ranges of movement and keep the pelvis balanced. You will learn useful breathing techniques, postures for labour and birth. All delivered with yoga principles and peppered with useful information about this life changing event. Pregnancy, birth and motherhood can be a wonderful time of grounding, connectedness, embodiment, health and indeed a time of great awakening.

I'm also a doula having trained with the Red Tent Doulas. Being part of this community has been transformative in how I teach, learn and share knowledge. Weaving in aspects of our own culture as well as respecting others culture imbues my work as a yoga teacher but also as a doula. I believe that birth is sacred and that the majority of women can birth safely without the need for medical intervention given the right support. Having a doula you connect with can significantly improve outcomes for mums and babies. If I cannot support you myself I can put you in touch with loads of other local doulas so do get in touch...
